Personal Description:
Hi, I’m Katie. I’m a secondary school teacher of Spanish with nine years experience in teaching and giving grinds. I have also worked on behalf of the SEC as an oral examiner for Leaving Cert Spanish. I am offering both in person and online grinds and I am quite flexible with times.
Tutoring Experience:
I have been teaching for nine years. I have extensive knowledge and experience of the of the curriculum and areas in which students consistently lose marks/need improvement.
Approach to Grinds:
Revision of basic grammar concepts and rules. I try to avoid rote learning and focus on being able to communicate in Spanish. Students who are able to communicate using clear, simple Spanish tend to do better than those who can only communicate/express themselves within the topics/questions they have learned off.
For Senior Cycle, I focus on opinion pieces, diary entries, note, reading comprehension, oral and aural. I use a range of different resources and techniques depending on a student’s strengths and weaknesses.

and I couldnt recommend her enough. She is extremely friendly and organised. She suppplied me with lots of useful materials for the parts of the course that I found particularly difficult. She was very flexible with times and dates and was always willing to give me additional help. Thanks to Katie i got a H2 overall in spanish and a H1 in my spanish oral for leaving cert.
She helped my son achieve a H2 grade in higher Spanish in 2023. She was extremely reliable, came to our house to provide grinds on a weekly basis, was very pleasant and professional to deal with and her rates were excellent.
