Information About Josh - Athlone tutor

Personal Description:

I got 613 points in my Leaving Cert and give tuition in Leaving Cert Maths and Applied Maths. I received 100% in both Maths and Computer Science in my Leaving Cert and am very passionate about these subjects. I aim to give students a strong foundational understanding of topics and provide advice on efficient study. I also tutor Maths for the Junior Cycle.

Tutoring Experience:

I have taught 2 students to date and am confident in my ability to help others more foundationally understand maths.

Approach to Grinds:

My approach to teaching is to constantly check for understanding. I practice the Socratic method which says: "I cannot teach anybody anything, I can only make them think." I think this is the most productive way of learning Mathematical subjects and will stand to you whether practicing, studying or being examined. I provide guidance with homework, assignments and tests, and will adapt my teaching to suit your learning style. I hope to instill both confidence and an appreciation for learning and for curiosity!
