Ciao! I'm Giancarlo, I'm 33 years old and I've been teaching Italian for more than 8 years so far at every level. Teaching is my passion and my job: so I consider myself a very lucky guy!
I hold a Master's Degree in Italian Language and Literature (Sapienza Università di Roma, 2014) and writing is my second job. I published several books, mainly fantasy novels and I'm also a scriptwriter for Audible (I write audiobooks)!
I am now living between Rome and Dublin (I love Ireland!!!) and I am willing to help any student who wishes to improve their speaking, listening, reading, and writing in Italian.
I'm happy to tutor face to face when it's possible but nowadays due to safety reasons most of my classes are ONLINE (Skype)!
Tutoring Experience:
I have teaching experience both at the high-school level and university level. I have tutored more than 40 students so far with a 100% satisfaction rate. I have a proven track record of success with tutoring students preparing for the Leaving Cert or casual students who wish to learn Italian, maybe before a long trip to Italy.
Approach to Grinds:
FIRST LESSON IS FREE :)
During our first class, we'll focus on your weaknesses and strengths to create a study plan that really suits you. Then we'll start working and having fun together! I have a very relaxed teaching style and I try to make my lessons interesting and fun!

GiancarloFrom Martina (5/5): (Adult / Casual Italian) Gian is a great teacher, I would highly recommend. He is very patient, understanding and super encouraging. Gian is very friendly so I feel relaxed and not afraid to make mistakes, the class flies by. I had done other group classes before so I wasn't a complete beginner but lacked confidence in putting sentences together. Unlike some other teachers, I like that Gian will explain something in English so I can understand it better and more quickly. The one-to-one works really well as Gian adapts to suit my level and needs. My confidence in speaking Italian has definitely grown, even in the space of six classes. I'm looking forward to continuing to learn with Gian.

He came to each session with lots of material prepared and tailored to my interests and grammatical needs. His English is also excellent and so if the learner's Italian is not so good communication will not be an issue. His classes always start promptly and are very well structured to my needs. In a short time, I have a greater understanding of conjugations and understanding masculine and feminine nouns, something I struggled with while learning other languages. With Gian’s energy, we always use the 60 minute lesson to the maximum, doing and learning as much as we possibly could. Additionally , Gian always makes the greatest effort to make him self available and adjust to my time table. He is very reliable. Starting with relatively basic Italian, I feel much more confident with my tenses and grammar after only 3 weeks of lessons- he always makes sure to correct if needed :)
