Personal Description:

I am a fully qualified ESL teacher and PhD candidate with a Master's in English Literature. I have extensive teaching and tutoring experience, and currently teach at the University of Galway.
Above all, I am patient, dedicated, and well-structured in my approach to both ESL teaching and grinds for the Junior and Leaving Certificate. My focus is firmly placed on the academic needs of the student.

Tutoring Experience:

I have four years of experience teaching ESL and have worked at the University of Galway as an academic writing and undergraduate tutor for four years.

Experienced in teaching children, teenagers, and adults.

Approach to Grinds:

I put a significant amount of effort into ensuring that my approach to teaching is student-centred. Those who specify that they are studying for exams will find me well-prepared and familiar with the requirements of that exam, and ready to focus on exam-style questions and techniques. Those who wish to improve their English for business or social reasons can also expect the same level of dedication and focus from me.
I always attempt to engage with the student using his or her preferred learning style, and to formulate both conversational and written exercises that challenge and excite them. I attempt to maximise the time spent with the student by planning the tutorial session in accordance with his or her needs, focusing on areas of weakness or interest as required.
