Personal Description:

I am a Cognitive Teacher of Spanish as a Foreign Language from Spain as well as a DELE Examiner since 2010. I hold a BA (1st) in Translation and Interpreting as well as a Master's Degree (1st) in Teaching of Spanish as a Foreign Language.

My Cognitive approach will help you to improve your command in Spanish much faster than you expected because it is based on its logical understanding as you did with your native language. For that goal, I use my own materials and will always be focused on you specific/more urgent needs (Grammar, Writing, Speaking, DELE exam preparation, etc.).

Tutoring Experience:

I have 14 years of teaching experience for private students as well as for small and large groups in different countries. I have worked at five universities as well as at the Cervantes Institute as Teacher of Spanish (all levels), Grammar, Speaking, Translation, Interpreting, Spanish for Specialised Purposes, DELE preparation courses, Speaking, Pronunciation, Writing Essays, etc.

Having been a foreign language student myself, I fully understand the challenges of learning them and remember some topics that always found more difficult to understand. Is there any question that has always remained unanswered? What about this topic that you cannot wait to understand? If such be the case, why don't you take a first lesson? I will help you to understand the logic behind it.

Approach to Grinds:

As a Cognitive Teacher, I will always be focused on helping you to think and communicate logically and fluently in Spanish with a full understanding of the message. By using this method, you will gain confidence and autonomy in your command of Spanish because you will always understand how it works without the use of your native language.

His approach to lessons focuses on logic, which makes it easier to learn compared to how course books outline the information. He also explains things in a simplied way. Ángel is very attentive and is encouraging with his feedback and praise. I can see he puts a lot of time into planning our lessons, and he knows the right pace to go at for my speed of learning. Through working with Ángel, I was able to successfully take our lessons through the Spanish language (not through English) from early on. I am glad I chose to work with Ángel and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to any other people looking to learn Spanish.

His method of teaching enables you to fully understand the language rather than just simply learning grammar rules. He also caters to whatever aspect of the language interests you. Thanks to his classes, I have rediscovered my love for Spanish. He is extremely flexible, organised and each class is adjusted to what best serves your learning needs at any particular time. Within the past 6 months, I have seen such a huge difference in my level that despite finishing university, I have decided to continue doing classes with him.

From Hayley (5/5): (University Spanish) I started with Ángel at the beginning of December 2019. I have been doing classes with him ever since. I feel that out of all the teachers that I have had, he is the most flexible, accommodating and actually teaches me where I go wrong or right in the Spanish language.
He tailors the classes to both what I feel I need to improve on, along with what he thinks too.
In the classes we cover listening, writing and speaking.
I would highly recommend Ángel.

From Martha (5/5): (Adult / Casual Spanish) Ángel is a wonderful tutor who is professional, helpful and very experienced at teaching Spanish - as well as being lovely company. I have been taking two-hour individual classes once per week for several months and feel I have progressed at twice the speed of a group class, in my previous experience with language classes. He is very accommodating to my difficult work hours and tailors the sessions to my language needs, provided materials for me to use and provides notes as well as suitable follow-up work for in between classes. I would highly recommend him as a language tutor.
