Information About Dorothy - Galway tutor

Personal Description:

I am originally from South Africa, dual British citizen, now based in Ireland.
I have years of experience in corporate business; my training was originally in chemistry, but I have ‘re-invented’ myself a few times. I am a qualified bookkeeper, and my last ten years in South Africa were as a qualified Tourist Guide, with my own Tour Operating Company, and clients from all over the world, and all walks of life.
I am now also a qualified TEFL teacher.
I love travelling, nature, food, swimming, reading and watching sport

Tutoring Experience:

As a qualified TEFL teacher, I taught for a year at a language Institute in Ecuador.
For the last two years, I have been teaching from my lap-top, with students all over the world.
I also have spent a short time volunteer teaching in Poland

Approach to Grinds:

I will send you a short test to evaluate your grammar level, and from your trial lesson, we will tailor a plan to achieve the result you want from your classes – your goals - do you want to improve your pronunciation, vocabulary, or prepare for an important event like an interview or a language test…?
The best way to learn to speak a language, is to speak it! And that’s what we will do….
I am patient and will encourage you to feel comfortable and relaxed, while we have interesting and fun informal conversations about topics we decide on together. I will provide articles and sometimes videos to work on reading and listening skills; I will also ask you to write to help with your spelling and grammar.
I will consider my job done when you become a fluent and confident English speaker.
