Personal Description:
I am a chemistry graduate from UCD and currently working as a process technician at Pfizer. My main subject areas are chemistry, biology and maths. I love tutoring people with their struggles. I believe and people tell me that I'm a great tutor (I'll let you be the judge of that). I have been tutoring professionally for the past 7 years working from primary all the way up to college students. I also offer thesis review and correction for final year science students. I offer a discounted rate for group tuition so feel free to request a group session with up to 3 others.
Tutoring Experience:
I’m very passionate about teaching through my own love for learning. I have been tutoring my friends, family , children, college students, leaving cert and junior cert students for the past 7 years. I have an excellent understanding of the leaving cert and junior cert sciences and maths syllabus. I studied sciences throughout my time in UCD and specialised in chemistry. During my years in UCD, I also took multiple maths modules because I genuinely enjoyed the challenge and aimed to strengthen my understanding and knowledge. I am a people’s person, patient, understanding and also possess great communication and listening skills. What makes me a great tutor is my ability to deal with different types of students of varying levels and approach their individual difficulties in a variety of ways .
Approach to Grinds:
As mentioned , I have developed an excellent understanding of the junior and leaving cert syllabus. Most of the time we'll work with exam papers to familiarise and prepare you with the exam layout. I offer one- on-one tutoring or group tutoring. I have more than one way of explaining concepts to students until they fully understand it. I believe the best way of learning is by understanding the fundamental concept and purpose of the subject matter , rather than simply memorising the information. This in turn, makes it easier for the students to engage and enjoy learning the material. I will work through many examples from the books and exam papers. My online tutoring service is also available on request and I have recently upgraded this with interactive tools and a visualiser for better experience as in real time.

I cannot rate Divin highly enough; he is extremely well prepared, gives his undivided attention, really gets into the students head and understands where he is at on the learning curve and gets to know where the bottlenecks, difficulties are and addresses same. His coaching, mentoring and teaching skills are brilliant and he has a very good way of levelling with his student and helps helps them reach their full potential. He takes the curriculum at a really good pace and my son now totally 'gets it'. If you need a tutor who will deliver results and and who cares and wants his students to do their very best, Divin is your man!

You simplify things which makes them much easier to understand and always answer any questions I have. I've already got through a lot of material in such a short amount of time and going through exam papers really helps me understand how the questions are asked in the exam, not just in the books. Although, I find some of the revision questions hard and I can't usually tell if i'm wrong or right since I don't have the answers.
