Information About Dino - Kinnegad tutor

Personal Description:

Hello. My name is a Dino . I am a third year Biotechnology student. Through my course I have held a first class honours degree (1.1) across a wide range of modules, such as Biochemistry, Microbiology, Molecular and Cell Biology, Organic and Physical Chemistry. I am currently doing a research placement at Leiden University Medical Center, where I am apart of the biochemistry and genetics department.

Tutoring Experience:

I started giving grinds two years ago to 5th year and 6th biology students on a 1 to 1 basis via Zoom. Last year I carried this on with extra focus on the curriculum and exam technique.

Approach to Grinds:

My approach is very simple. I will speak with the student during the first meeting and find their strengths and weaknesses. I deliver my grinds through zoom. I am very exam focused and will go through the most important topics and themes within the curriculum with an emphasis on exam technique. I will go through a PowerPoint or notes with the student with the aid of an online whiteboard. I will then highlight what is needed to know for the exam (.ie certain processes or definitions). At the end of my session I go through past papers and give the student a worksheet to complete. I will correct this worksheet and give feedback to the student. However I will work at the students own learning level and will tweak the lessons on the basis of the students needs.
