Personal Description:

*(Flexible timetable for online grinds. Offering my own LC H1 notes and essays )*
A motivated and high achieving college student and scholar offering English grinds for primary, Junior Cert and Leaving Cert level. Currently in my second year of my BA Humanities degree in English with Creative Writing in UCD. I am genuine and attentive, and passionate about helping others with concepts/elements of exams that they may struggle with, be it poetry techniques or Shakespeare. I can assist in developing the student's written voice and their language of argument and persuasion in essays, as well as how to better interpret/break down exam questions. I will help students create relevant and well expressed points for essays, remaining on task and addressing all aspects of the specific question for maximum marks.

Also a published writer, my short story "A Road to Izmir" in the Irish Times supplement "Fighting Words" was used by teachers in the Institute of Education as an example of how students should engage the reader, write with originality, and structure a narrative piece.

Tutoring Experience:

Tutoring students weekly since October.

Good experience in teaching and working through key topics and exam questions with students.

Confident in roles of responsibility (Served as chairperson of the student council in secondary school and was given the student of the year award for setting an excellent example for younger students)

Approach to Grinds:

Once I am aware of the areas or elements of the exam that the student is struggling with, I will focus my efforts on ensuring they can improve in answering those questions and grow in confidence writing them. Knowing what needs to be addressed and working specifically on those parts will be of huge benefit to the student and will mean we can maximize the use of our contact time.

I will tailor my knowledge and skills to suit the student's needs so they can improve and write better answers.
