Personal Description:

I am offering Spanish grinds for Senior Cycle and Junior Cycle students from 1st-6th year. A language enthusiast, I am currently studying a language degree in University and I achieved a H1 grade in Spanish in the 2023 Leaving Certificate, with an efficient and steady study routine. I have learned how to approach all three aspects of language learning (Oral, Aural and written) and the individual elements of study required for each. As an undergraduate student, I have a very fresh and modern understanding of Leaving Certificate Spanish and the tips and tricks required to achieve the highest grade. With an 100% overall grade in my oral, I can assure you that I leave no stone unturned and can cover a broad range of topics and vocabulary.

Tutoring Experience:

I have spent the past 3 years offering grinds locally in my area, starting with Ty students and later gaining students beginning their 5th or 6th year experience. Most recently I have also expanded to Junior cycle grinds and currently have a number of 2nd and 3rd year students. I am a firm believer in consistency and offer my students a personal and specific study plan that will help them to focus on their weaknesses or personally chosen areas. Approach to Grinds:

I pay special attention to expanding students vocabulary and ensuring that they maintain a strong understanding of Spanish grammar. It's the little mistakes that often differentiate H2 and H1 students. Therefore, I draw students attention to common mistakes and help them to gain the confidence to tackle the subjunctive and broaden the topics they can discuss in their oral. Most importantly, the majority of students fall down on the Aural section of the paper. This section is not as daunting as it may appear if students become aware of the patterns and key words involved.
