Information About Áine - Foxford tutor

Personal Description:

My name is Áine and I am passionate about teaching both History and English. I qualified with a BA (Hons) in both subjects from Maynooth University in 2016.
I have over 6 years experience teaching Leaving Certificate History and over 8 years experience teaching Junior Cycle History and English along with LC English.

Tutoring Experience:

In 2018 I qualified with from UCD with a Professional Masters in Education. I have taught both History and English for 7 years in schools in fee charging school in the Dublin area. I have recently moved back to Mayo and hope to give tuition in History and/or English I have experience teaching both Junior Cycle and Leaving Certificate students in both subjects. I am passionate about teaching and helping my students to develop an interest and understanding in the subjects.
In LC History I have helped students to achieve top marks over the years.

Approach to Grinds:

I believe it is important to understand the strengths and weaknesses of the student so that the best approach can be taken for the individual. Over the years I have compiled notes to assist my students. Along with this, I believe it is important for the student to understand the marking scheme so that they can take the best approach when answering in the exam.
Assessments will be carried out, both formal and summative, to ensure material is understood and feedback will be provided to assist the student to improve.
