Personal Description:

PIANO TEACHER: Larisse is always continuing her education in Music and Music pedagogy. Her main aim in teaching music is to encourage enjoyment and expression through music. She is influenced by the Dalcroze philosophy of teaching which includes understanding of music by less conventional means such as through movement. She hopes that in the future she can develop an original teaching method which is influenced by methods such as Dalcroze, Kodaly, Orff and Suzuki as well as learning from her own studio teaching as to what works with children.

Tuition Experience:

Larisse has been teaching piano since 1995 - so 25 years. She is a mother of a 19 year old boy. Her teaching experience includes teaching private and group lessons in piano, music theory, singing, preschool music and has also done prac. teaching at 4 different schools from kindergarten to year 12.

Tutoring Approach:

Priva**Contact Detail Removed**ssons are tailored to the student's needs. In general however, a lesson will include perfromance practice, note reading/theory, Aural, creative skills, general knowledge and many other little interesting things that get pulled out of the hat.

In this way, music students can not only enjoy their instrument in performance, but to also develop other music related skills.

Piano lessons are taught on a Yamaha C3 grand piano with adjustable stool and adjustable foot rest (if needed). There are also 2 high quality digital pianos available.

Online lessons are taught with at least 2 webcams, including a laptop and ipad and another webcam. Students will have access to digital lesson notes and optional recording of the lesson.

Performance in concert practice, competitions, exams etc are all available to the student but are completely optional.

Larisse is always trying innovative methods of teaching that are fun, hands on and interactive with other students (if possible).

Students that discover music in a fun and natural way are more likely to take their own initiative to stick to the commitment of learning music for life.
