Information about Kenny - Woodridge tutor - (1 review)
I enjoy teaching Accounting and I have developed my teaching skills and experience in a private secondary school with a student population coming from various cultural and social backgrounds. I believe that patience, empathy and the desire to see students succeed are key attributes when it comes t tutoring. I feel a personal satisfaction when my student understands and shows interest in the subject, and above all when the student gets a high score in exams.
I taught Accounting to students aged between 14 to 19 years old for fourteen years in a private secondary school. I helped them to prepare for the Cambridge School Certificate and Higher School Certificate. I delivered lessons in both English and French to ensure students grasped well all the topics within the subject, even if it meant explaining again.
I have also tutored students on a one to one basis after school hours and during school holidays.
It's important to know the strengths and weaknesses of the student first, to identify the areas where much emphasis must be placed on. It's also necessary to understand the student himself or herself and his/her perspective. Lessons are then developed based on the areas of weakness. Lessons must be however varied and there must not be too much cramming. It's also best to get the student's feedback, to know whether there has been any progress and whether the method of teaching might need a change. Homework will be set to give the student the opportunity to apply what he/she has learnt, and feedback given to the parents on the state and progress of their child.
