Information about James - Gunnedah tutor

Personal Description:

I love educating and I love mathematics. I enjoy imparting knowledge and I always strive to get the best out of my students, whether in the classroom or during a one on one tutoring session. I am a Head Teacher of Mathematics in a rural NSW high school and I am happy to help anyone who wants to improve their mathematical abilities.

Tuition Experience:

I have been teaching for the department of education for the past 7 years and I have been tutoring students for the past 12 years. I can tutor all levels of high school mathematics including Extension 1 and 2 in senior school.

Tutoring Approach:

To become proficient at anything in life it takes time and practice. Nothing more so than mathematics. A student receiving one on one tutelage and spending the extra hour or so a week has a dramatically positive impact on results. Having a tutor be able to pick up on mistakes and misconceptions in real time is invaluable to the learning process.
I let my students guide their sessions. If we need move slowly through something that is causing confusion than so be it. This is the freedom tutoring gives us rather than the time restraints that exist in the classroom.
