Personal Description:

My role as a tutor is to support students as they work towards their academic objectives and provide guidance when they encounter difficulties. Seeing firsthand how your efforts have raised a student's score on an exam or report card is incredibly satisfying. I enjoy teaching because it allows my students to experience this learning-teaching adventure together.
My teaching methodology is direct instruction based and focus on student centred inquiry based learning. It is personalised and collaborative/cooperative and competency based learning. It is also emotional-social focussed learning. This enables for a holistic , well rounded approach to effective, practical learning. My learning objectives are well defined, engaging and I connect lessons to real world applications.

Tuition Experience:

My vast years of years of teaching experience (14 years) has helped me understand the needs to students in today's world.
I have a B.A, B. Ed, M.A and M.Phil in English Literature. I also teach English as a Second/Foreign language and am currently completing an IELTS teaching course. I am mostly available on the weekends until 12.00pm and after 6.00pm on weekdays. My preferred place of tutoring is my residence. I offer tutoring to lower/middle school and senior school students. I also teach English to migrants, with a particular focus on IELTS.
