Information about Chathu - Box Hill tutor

Personal Description:

A little bit about myself a mother of a six-year-old who was involved heavily in the homeschooling during COVID period and helping with her day to day learnings. I started my career as an accountant who developed into a software/IT consultant for accountants and then to ensure I am a major part my daughter’s life started working as a Practice Manager at an accounting firm.
As my daughter grows up and using my new found freedom and wanting a new challenge I have left my full-time job and started to pursue my dream of becoming a lecturer. Therefore, I have enrolled myself to complete a Ph.D. this year and in my spare time, I would like to tutor mathematics for kids.

Tuition Experience:

From a very early age, I started to teach, first to my imaginary students, to my friends and then to become a peer tutor at high school then a part-time tutor during my university years.
I enjoy sharing knowledge, teaching kids, and seeing them succeed and enjoy their learning. I get immense pleasure in seeing the kids grow and enjoy their studies.
I have especially always enjoyed my time learning and teaching mathematics to friends, peers, students, and feel as I can make a real impact in that area.
Mathematics is a beautiful, logical, and a universal language.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that the critical thing is to listen and understand the learning styles of students. I incorporate games and items familiar to them to teach maths principles. It is not about getting the right answer it is about understanding the logic behind the tasks.
I customise my lessons and use visual cues a lot in my teachings all gives break to the students so they don’t feel too overwhelmed.
