I’m a beginner and have had four lessons so far. I’ve found Clive to be friendly and this puts you at ease. He is methodical in his approach, we’re working through a clarinet basics book at the moment, and if I haven’t mastered reading some bass clef notes, we go back a bit til I have, which is good and I appreciate that. Most importantly he is very patient and will play the tune himself to show you what it should sound like.
