Personal Description:

I am currently in DCU studying to become a Maths and Physical education Teacher. I achieved 578 Points in the Leaving Cert, so I am aware of what it takes to excel and achieve the best grade possible.

Tutoring Experience:

I have a couple years of experience giving grinds to both Leaving Cert and Junior Cycle students of various different abilities. Every student is unique with their own set of skills and weaknesses within the subject and my approach is to increase the student's confidence in their own Maths ability.

Approach to Grinds:

I am a firm believer that everyone has the potential to achieve their best in mathematics given the right guidance and support. My aim is to help each and every student to unlock their potential and achieve the highest possible grade they can achieve. I have previous experience of giving both junior and leaving cert grinds and have an extensive knowledge of the curriculum and exam style questions. I will spend time getting to know the students' specific difficulties within the topic and will structure my classes to develop their knowledge of the course while also placing an emphasis on exam questions. My classes will be structured on a specific curriculum topic that the student finds difficult, and I will firstly spend time explaining the topic and will work with the student to understand and to tackle questions working up to competing exam questions. I will provide sample answers and will assign extra questions that the student needs to complete and send to me between classes. Each class will begin by providing the student with feedback on their attempt and any issues they have will be worked through with them.
