Personal Description:
I am 4th year Mathematics student in TCD.
I have a passion for Maths and applying it in the real world (I enjoy playing poker).
Helping people to see and appreciate their own great intuition for Maths in their life is very important to me.
Tutoring Experience:
I man the Mathematics Help Room (Trinity College Dublin).
I give the Mathematics tutorials for 1st year Engineering students (Trinity College Dublin).
I teach mature students looking to bring up their Maths before going into STEM courses (Trinity Access Programme).
I spent the summer videoing step-by-step solutions to Leaving Cert Maths questions (2015-2019).
I have experience tutoring one-on-one from Junior Certifica**Contact Detail Removed**vel up to University Maths students.
Approach to Grinds:
I have a 3-step approach to teaching maths.
I first focus on helping you develop conceptual understanding by going through the reasons behind the rules.
I then focus on helping you develop procedural fluency by going over related exam problems.
Everyone is an expert at applying mathematical thinking in some area of their lives, but they might not recognise or appreciate it. I continuously focus on cultivating confidence in your own ability.
