Personal Description:

Hello everyone! My name is Sophia, I'm from Ireland, I am a native English speaker and I live in Ireland. I'm a recent graduate with a degree in Global Languages (French, Spanish, and Italian) from the University of Galway. My undergraduate was four years long and I majored in French, and minored in Spanish and Italian. During my undergraduate studies, I got the opportunity to study in a university in France (Université de Toulon) whereby I improved my level of French considerably. I completed a course called FLE (French as a foreign language) in Toulon, France. It was a 4 month long course where I was put into a C1 French class. By the end of the course, I received a C1 level of French. I am really passionate about French, and I adore teaching. I am a patient, kind and supportive French teacher. As someone who learned French as a second language, I have learned a lot of tips and tricks along the way that have helped me improve my fluency in French, and I am looking forward to sharing my tips and tricks with ye.

Tutoring Experience:

I have always had a passion for teaching and learning languages. I have been teaching English, and French for the past six years. I started teaching French three years ago. I started off teaching French to beginners, to teaching French to intermediate language learners.

Approach to Grinds:

I adapt my lessons to my students needs. I teach conversation, grammar, writing and colloquial French expressions. I also help my students with job interview preparation and I correct resumes . Conversation helps to improve written, reading, listening and speaking skills. Before my lessons, I will plan out exactly what my class will entail. My classes are fun and interactive and I love helping my students improve their level of French. I also provide grammar lessons in French to all levels of French learners. My grammar classes are simple and easy to understand. My students always tell me that after a grammar class with me, they understand French grammar a lot better and it becomes a lot more transparent. I also prepare students for the junior cert and leaving cert. I have a lot fo knowledge when it comes to helping students with their junior cert and leaving cert French. I help them practice for the oral and written component of the exam as well as practicing exam papers.
