Information About Simon - Clonee tutor

Personal Description:

I prefer a dialogic based teaching experience that focuses on discussion, supported by notes. I think students learn better in a relaxed, conversational environment, rather than being lectured at. I've done online & in person tuition for years, as well as full time teaching. I've been teaching History & Classics for the last 10 years at Junior & Leaving Cert Level. I provide notes, PowerPoints & will correct essays along with tuition. I've developed the Schemes of Work for the new JC Classics course, JC History course & LC Classics course in my own school & have been the first to teach each one of them. I also work with the PDST, a government body which works to upskill & inform teachers with regards to engaging with the specifications of these courses.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been teaching History and Classical Studies grinds for the last 10 years & work with the PDST to upskill teachers in these subjects. I also examine the LC HL History exams.

Approach to Grinds:

When first meeting a student I talk with them about what areas of the subject they struggle with and then I develop a lesson plan based on the students needs. These plans are flexible and can be adapted reflect the students changing needs such as upcoming tests or if they feel the need for revision. In relation to Leaving Cert History & Classical Studies I also offer assistance when it comes to the RSR aspect of the course and can review any submitted work in my own time and offer feedback.
