Personal Description:

I am currently a French and Spanish teacher in Waterford city. I completed a four year concurrent teaching degree at the University of Limerick in 2014. During my studies, I lived in Badajoz, Spain and worked as teaching assistant for six months. In addition I spent six months studying at the University of Aix in Provence, France. Recently I have completed a degree in History at Dublin City University in order to teach an additional subject and I finished my studies last year.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been teaching for the last six years at the same school. I teach Senior Cycle French at both levels since the start of my career including Junior Cycle French. I have been teaching Junior Cycle Spanish since it has been introduced two years ago in my school. Last year I started teaching Junior Cycle History since completion of my studies. I am head of the Languages Department of my school for the last three years and Senior Cycle Year Head.

Approach to Grinds:

It is important to meet the needs of the student and to improve the area of learning that they find difficult. For languages, their reading, writing, reading and speaking skills will be assessed and improved. The use of exam papers and teacher's notes/ resources will be given. The student will be advised on areas that may need to be improved. The grind will be broken down like a lesson whereby the student will be doing work after the teacher has taught.
For the subject of history, certain events and periods will be assessed and to allow the student to discuss what they feel needs to be improved.
