Personal Description:
I am a post-primary modern foreign languages and history teacher, registered with the Teaching Council. I work as a Senior Cycle teacher in a special school for students with mild/moderate learning disabilities and complex needs.
I hold a Master's degree in philosophy and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education from Middlesex University London.
Tutoring Experience:
I recently completed Cpd training with Hibernia College on Inclusion of learners with Special Educational Needs and Promoting Social Communication skills. I also completed the programs It Takes Two to Talk® — The Hanen Program® for Parents of Children with Language Delays and More Than Words® — The Hanen Program® for Parents of Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder or Social Communication Difficulties.
NCSE teacher training courses in Supporting students with autism, communication, primary curriculum maths, STEM, speech and language therapy, behaviour support.
Approach to Grinds:
I use a number of teaching approaches that address the needs of students with a variety of backgrounds, learning modalities, and abilities. These strategies contribute to an overall inclusive learning environment in which all students perceive to be valued and able to succeed.
