Information About Sarah - Dublin tutor

Personal Description:

Hi there, I’m Sarah. I graduated from Trinity College University of Dublin with a First Class Honours degree in German Language and Theatre Studies. My degree has given me a vast insight into German literature and living in Germany has given me a grasp of the language and the culture that goes beyond the book. My work in the theatre has shown me the importance of all kinds of learning techniques and given me the skills to meet the needs of all kinds of learners, no two the same. I’m a strong believer in facing the curriculum and the examination process head-on and working towards the goals at hand! I love making life a little easier for each student, no matter how young or old, no matter the challenge. I look forward to helping each individual find their way through this fantastic language.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been supporting language learners for several years. I teach German to primary and secondary school students and to adults, beginners and advanced. I have years of experience working with school curriculums and exams, as well as teaching casual learners for their own enjoyment. I have taught English as a foreign language while living in Germany and am a lecturer of Advanced English at the University of Rostock, Germany.

Approach to Grinds:

I lay great emphasis on speaking and listening skills. These are the foundation of a language and are often undervalued and under practiced in schools. Written work can be built upon these corner stones so as to create a well-rounded grasp of the language. Fluency and pronunciation are the skills needed to speak joyfully and confidently and so these are a core part of my lessons.
I teach online on your platform of choice. I find two half hour classes a week is the best for language learning but classes of an hour are of course also possible, depending on the needs and availability of the student.
