Personal Description:

I possess a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in English and Psychology from Atlantic Technological University. I have also worked as a freelance writer of non-fiction and have completed a PLC in Leadership and Management with The Open College. Additionally, I am an avid reader and writer who revels in the feeling of creation, having published poems and short stories within my college's journal. I am passionate about the subject of English and have studied everything from Chaucer to Heaney, and I hope I can share that same passion with you, prospective student.

Tutoring Experience:

I have completed a number of work experience modules within a primary school environment at St Attracta's National School and have taught grinds at secondary school education level, mainly in the subject of English literature and textual analysis, in addition to academic writing.

Approach to Grinds:

I tend to take things slowly and not overwhelm students with too much information. Instead, I prefer to break a subject down into its base components and deliver material to my students in more manageable lesson packs composed of supplementary learning material, one-on-one sessions and recorded lectures w/ presentations.

I will also guide students in affective study techniques, academic writing tips and how to manage time and resources effectively. I hold to the belief that most students can excel within a subject given the right material and guidance to work with.

I offer online classes Tuesdays and Thursdays for one to two hour blocks (I am flexible however).
