Personal Description:

Fourth Year Pharmacy Student with extensive knowledge of all topics assessed in Leaving Cert Chemistry.
Achieved 625 points in the Leaving Cert with a H1 (98%) in Chemistry.

Tutoring Experience:

Experience in giving grinds in Chemistry to 5th and 6th year students.

Approach to Grinds:

Grinds will be tailored to the learning style and preferences of the student. Each grind will begin with a recap of the previous grinds material and I will go through any issues/ questions that the student has with that material. Once the student feels confident with material already covered, we will move onto new material. My approach to teaching isn't a 'recap' or 'learning-off' style, instead I prefer to focus on giving the student a deeper understanding of Chemistry as this will allow them to adapt to different styles of questions asked in the Leaving Cert exam. At the end of each grind, we will look at some previous exam questions and how the student would approach these.
I will provide the student with a summary sheet for next weeks grind at the end of each session so that if they want, they can familiarise themselves with the material in advance. Although I provide notes for students, I encourage them to add to these notes or modify them in a way that makes sense to them as each student will have their own style of learning.
While I understand that I will be giving Grinds to the student, it is important that students engage with material I am teaching and are willing to work with me to achieve their potential in Chemistry.
Grinds will start on Sunday the 7th of September and will run on Sundays right up to the Leaving Cert (6th year) or June 1st (5th year). Open to changing the day/time of grinds depending on what suits the student.
Grinds will last 50 minutes to 1 hour 15 minutes depending on the needs of the student that week.
