Personal Description:

I have a degree in financial mathematics graduating this year. I've been giving higher and ordinary level leaving and junior certificate for 5 years now. Located in Sligo and Dublin area.

Tutoring Experience:

This is my fifth year giving maths grinds and I have corrected the junior cycle maths for the state examinations commission. I had approximate 12 students sitting there junior and leaving certificate maths paper all achieving high grades

Approach to Grinds:

My approach varies based on the needs of the student. I have had students looking to get A1's who need to perfect their answering, and other students who are trying to make sure they just pass the subject. In my experience all students are able to grasp any topic if approached from the right angle. I find in the majority of my students is not that they lack intellectual ability, but rather that they lack an ability to organise the amount of information into more manageable 'chunks', and that is what I aim to do. I create a personalised plan to manage the amount of work needed to be covered, as well as highlighting at the beginning the areas that will need extra focus and time. After each session I set a past exam question based on the topic we have just covered and correct it with the student at the start of the next session.
