Information About Rachel - Rachel

Personal Description:

I am studying a Joint Honours degree in English and Irish at UCC and I am currently on my Eramus year in the Netherlands. This is my third year of studying these two subjects and I will be graduating in 2025. I am from Naas Kildare originally having attending St. Marys College Naas where I received an adequate education that has helped me in my approach to teaching. I achieved no less than a H1 or H2 in the subjects I have listed to tutored in and more than willing to help students achieve their goals

Tutoring Experience:

I have worked in Cólaiste Uisce for several years during the summer courses and during off - season. I would be supervise the students, between the ages of 13-18, within the Cólaiste, helping to immerse them in the Irish language while observing how students used and approved their language skills. We used various systems and had different approaches depending on the child's capability and confidence with the language in which we would cater around them and make sure by the end of the course they had developed a new found confidence and respect for their language.

I have also worked with children from France in improving their spoken English and working on their dialect with the language

Approach to Grinds:

My approach to grinds depends on the student themselves, their goals within the subject and what they would like to improve on. I will cater to each student individually, depending on how they best absorb and regurgitate information. I will always create a safe and enjoyable environment so that the student will feel comfortable and at ease when learning while also working with the student's confidence towards the subject which is key
