Personal Description:

I am an Irish history M.Phil student in TCD, from Co. Wicklow, with a passion for learning and studying. I previously pursued a B.A. in Classical Civilization with Latin and achieved first-class honours.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been giving grinds for four years and have been a Kumon assistant (aiding students with maths and English) for five years.

Approach to Grinds:

I believe that, in order to achieve the best possible grades in both the Junior and Leaving Cert cycles, it is important to approach subjects in the right way. I like to focus on exam technique, as I feel that it is one of the most helpful, and often overlooked, aspects of preparation. I believe it is best to tailor lessons according to the individual needs of the student and to build overall confidence in the subject. Having recently completed the Leaving Cert myself (2018), I am very well acquainted with the current teaching methods and curricula, and, having achieved H1s in both English and History, as well as having successfully achieved the highest possible result in Maths in the Junior Cert, I am eager to engage with students who feel they would benefit from extracurricular help.
