Information About Nicole - Drogheda tutor

Personal Description:

I am an experienced tutor and an expert in history. I have three degrees in Classics, a history-adjacent field, and have corrected for Leaving Certificate mock examinations before and was a written examiner for the JC History exams.

While living in Edinburgh I tutored students for their SQA exams for the Scottish English and History curriculums and taught in primary schools abroad in South Korea for two years.

While History is my preferred subject, I also teach Junior and Leaving Certificate English and offer essay writing skills development in both subjects.

Tutoring Experience:

Tutoring: SQA exam tutoring, disability tutoring at NUIG. Remote tuition in ESL and subject teaching at post-primary level.

Teaching: 3 years of English language teaching in South Korea (elementary school) and Ireland (adults).

Approach to Grinds:

I think it best to tailor grinds to the individual student and their needs. For example, the History Leaving Cert has two main aspects that students struggle with: the content, and how to use that content to execute an essay. By identifying problems with these two aspects I am able to set expectations with the student.
