Personal Description:

I am a qualified teacher and have experience in Irish secondary and tertiary levels as well as GCSE, IGCSE and A level. I have international experience as I'm Irish living in Spain. i have a PhD in Economic policy evaluation based in mental health in the UK health system. I have completed doctorate work in Social Sciences . i have a masters in Teaching and Translation in linguistics and modern languages. I have a base degree in Economics, accounting and classical studies (Latin, Italian). I have lived in France, Italy and Spain.I have worked as a VEC trainer with adults with physical and intellectual disabilities.

Tutoring Experience:

I have taught in Ireland for 8 years, Italy for 10 years and currently in Spain for 7 years in a variety of state,international and private schools, professional and companies as a mother tongue English teacher. I also worked with NALA for literacy and numeracy as well as SNA work with teenagers. i currently work also with the Disability support office as a tutor as well as UCC Plus for third level and secondary level students. I actively tutor online from Junior Cert to masters level at university for the last twenty years.

Approach to Grinds:

My rate is 40 euros an hour but long term, time bundles and priority timed lesson are available on request. I have been teaching for 25 years and actively tutor online on a variety of well known European platforms for priva**Contact Detail Removed**ssons at primary, secondary and university levels for a wide range of students and professionals. While I believe strongly in tutor led expertise, the student should feel comfortable to ask any and all questions, develop their own curiosities and resolve and any doubts they may have. It is my personal belief that unless you can do something with clear process, it is not part of your current skill set. My job is to make it possible for you to understand and perform at the level required of what you want at the key time to demonstrate it whether that is solving an equation, explaining a theory or using accurately a grammar structure. • Review of essays and assignments and feedback is possible just with or without the student present. It is at my hourly rate (35 euros) short notice lesson are available at a supplement of 50%. Weekend lessons 8am-4pm are available. I will discuss what I do and what I don’t do (within my experience, timeline and official capacity). I do not write for students. I do not submit my work as yours. I present ideas and draft plans. I prepare comments and notes and rewrite content already created for flow and clarity. I include what I do and time related activity and what is priority and extra to general lessons. This is to avoid miscommunication and give your work the time and effort you expect.
• I proofread and highlight errors at the given stipulation of minimum of 25 comments. To do as a priority so as per 50% increase of my rate, or if you require more comment or corrections, then it is to be agreed ahead of me starting and the price will adjust accordingly.
• Shorter lessons of 30mins are at a flat rate of 30 euros.

In languages, i took French, Latin and Italian at leaving cert and took a DELE exam in Spanish. I believe in exam focused preparation with strong vocal and aural success. writing is developed through past exam papers. in business subjects, i take a practical repetitive approach to generating confidence and motivating partial self answering. I work online with a platform through interactive video calls with minimum teacher focus and exclusively on individual student's needs and objectives. I have been through many online platforms and dedicated websites for more than 15 years. I objectively ask for feedback from both students, their parents and document each student`s progress with email interaction, interactive Skype video calls and create personalized profiles and work schedules based on individual requirements. I am available to mark and return exam questions. I am quite consistent in requiring students to plan, draft,develop and critique work completed.I lead by showing in experienced students to do so to the highest standard and achieve maximum marks.I draw widely from different curricula,exam boards and exam questions types to apply real world examples, evidence higher order learning and proficient understanding. I have a set rate of 35 euros an hour. I would like to demonstrate especially in last minute arranged lessons. There is a short notification fee for which is active under 12 hours of acceptance of a lesson which is full hourly fee. Cancellations under 48 hours on a weekly lesson are full hourly fee and cancellations for under 24 hours twice full hourly fee as other lessons could have been taken in lieu. In the case of an overrun in time, it is at the student's discretion to accept to continue and pay the hourly rate plus a supplement of 50% established Jan 2017. I am available always outside of lessons for questions, queries, clarifications and changes within a reasonable 24 hour reply. I mark any questions sent and set feedback but again with a 24 hour return policy and if less than this, would consider it half payment for my time external to lessons. My aim is to be clear and meant to make both sides happy with any and all interactions. All adjustments and comments are welcome.
