Personal Description:

I’m an Irish and French student at Trinity College Dublin, in my third year of studies. I have grown up learning the Irish language after attending Irish-speaking primary and secondary schools. I have two years of tutoring experience, among children, secondary school students and adults. I’m well versed with online teaching platforms and have different methods of tutoring for each age group and level of language proficiency. My main goal is to help the student to engage with the language and enjoy the learning process. My love of Irish is something that I would like to pass on to others. Tutoring Experience:

I’ve been giving grinds consistently for two years to students of all levels - young primary school children to Leaving Cert students. Since lockdown began, I’ve also been teaching online via Zoom, Skype and FaceTime. I’ve helped younger friends and family through their school tests and exams over the years, whether that be by practising with them for their oral exams, helping them with grammar and the prescribed texts, and introducing them to new vocabulary.

Approach to Grinds:

I have an extensive collection of notes and sample answers to help with both the written and oral exams but my main focus will be on helping the student achieve a higher level of fluency, tailored towards the tests. Every session will be specific to the student's needs and I am more than happy to help with any area, whether that be the written, listening or oral sections. For younger students, I love to do fun activities in the Irish language to keep the student engaged and to make sure they're enjoying the lessons. I have a warm and friendly approach and no question is too silly. I truly love to teach the language and help people no matter what stage they're at.
