Personal Description:

Hi. I am a lover of education and learning and in particular language and communication.I have an honours arts degree in English with one year French.I also have a Diploma in French from the Alliance Francais.My other passion is drama and I have spent many years in amateur theatre. I have traveled to south /central America, West Indies, Asia and all over Europe. I believe the skills of a good teacher are to praise, motivate and encourage the student.I come from a teaching background so it is in my blood!

Tutoring Experience:

I have excellent experience of private classes one-to-one with a native Italian speaker. I can now add my experience with French, Polish and Japanese students from this site.In 2017 I completed TESOL training where I taught Brazilians , Spanish, Argentinians,Romanian and Asian students. In 2018 I taught Spanish and Italian teenagers in a summer school in Canterbury ,UK and similarly in 2019 in Sligo ,Ireland. I also was an activity coordinator for a English language summer school in Dublin 2019.I also have 12 years on the job training of staff in the public service.

Approach to Grinds:

My approach is to first establish what the students' aims are and to determine their current level with a simple questionnaire. Once this is established I can tailor a class to suit this objective. Some students like one-to-one conversation, others prefer written material and examples. I am flexible and every student has different previous experience that they are bringing with them. I have done a lot of research and have lots material from the latest teaching methodologies.
