Personal Description:

Dedicated and experienced teacher of English (JC and LC) and Geography (JC) for the last 7 years in a Dublin school, having taught the GCSE curriculum in London prior to this. I have achieved excellent results with JC and LC students in both subjects and pride myself on my engaging and focused approach to teaching.

I am extremely passionate about my subjects and communicate this to my students. I also regularly engage with continuous professional development (CPD) courses to stay up to date with new teaching pedagogy and changes to curricula and assessment in my subjects.

I work well with students of all abilities to help them recognise and achieve their potential. Grinds will be tailored to the student's needs, be that exam focused or general support in the subject.

Graduated in top 15 of Bachelor of Arts (English and Geography) and achieved 1.1 in Professional Masters of Education. Have presented research to Dublin teachers which focused on differentiation strategies to ensure students of all abilities achieve success.

Tutoring Experience:

I am experienced in teaching higher and ordinary levels in LC and JC English and in teaching Junior Cycle Geography. I taught in England for some time before returning to teach in Dublin for the last number of years.

My experience has provided me with in-depth knowledge of the curricula for both subjects, as well as an understanding of exam technique and preparation.

Approach to Grinds:

Each student learns differently and it is therefore essential for me to get to know a student initially and how they approach their studies.

Once the learning style has been ascertained, along with the students' goals for the subject, I ensure that each grind is focused and well-paced so that the student comes away more confident about the material and their ability to perform in the various assessments across the JC and LC curriculum.

Students will be provided with notes and sample answers throughout the grinds process, and there will also be opportunities for various formative assessments depending on the student's needs.
