Personal Description:

Hi my name is Max.
I am currently finishing my PhD in Marine Geochemistry at Goethe University Frankfurt, having obtained my BA in Zoology from Trinity College Dublin and MSc in Taxonomy, Biodiversity and Evolution from Imperial College London.
I am capable and willing to provide concise and high quality-grinds in a variety of Leaving Certificate Subjects (History, Music, Chemistry, Biology and Classics) as well as 1st and 2nd year University Biology and 3rd and 4th year University Natural Sciences.

I am based in Germany now so shall give grinds via Zoom or Skype

Tutoring Experience:

I have experience teaching my classmates in a variety of subjects both at both leaving certificate and university level as an informal tutor.
I have tutored several students around Dublin also on a variety of subjects and have never had any complaints, see feedback.
Aside from this I have worked as a scuba diving assistant instructor, from this I learnt effective communication and how to encourage and get the best out of my students. If I can communicate with and teach people with nothing but hand gestures underwater I can definitely hammer home information in a 1 on 1 tutorial.

Approach to Grinds:

Lessons will be tailored to the individual. When giving grinds it is important to have a clear idea of what the student wishes to accomplish from these sessions. With this goal in mind I will assess the capability of the student in the relevant field and figure out what areas need to be focused on in order to best improve.
Re-enforcing the basic principals as well as building on weak areas is the most effective method I have found in the past. Once I feel the student has better grasps of areas they were weak in I will start putting problems to them, running through exam questions and both critiquing and getting them to critique essays and work they have done.
My aim is to make your lessons as productive and beneficial for you as possible.
