Personal Description:

I am a History graduate, familiar with the Leaving Cert and Junior Cert curriculums and exam pattern. I can help you study, prepare for exams and encourage productive time management. History is an easy A - which I can help you achieve. I live in Wicklow and I can travel to a student's home. In college I was society liaison officer for the History Society and also took part in the TCD tutoring programme.

Tutoring Experience:

I have tutored many students during my time in college, through the TCD tutoring programme aswell as my own private tutoring practice. I have given history grinds to both Leaving Cert and Junior Cert students for the past 3 years, and all my students recieved an A in their exams in that subject. Aside from teaching History I have taken a TEFL course, and have taught English to foreign students for a few weeks eachother so I am familiar with normal and efficient teaching practices.

Approach to Grinds:

For History Grinds: I will approach the exam first, which for second level education is the goal of the study. How to achieve the best marks, and how to get extra credit for work that stands out among the class. I will help with the best way to recognise trick questions, how to approach questions and what time to spend on each one. I will also help my students with the correct and most efficient way of memorising certain points and dates so that each point triggers the memory of the broader topic. I will provide extra notes, and my extensive knowledge of the subject to provide each student with a unique interest in the subject so that it is not all about the exam.
