Personal Description:

I am a Qualified ACCA Accountant with over 10 years experience working in both the private and public sector.In the last year I have been promoted to Auditor in the public sector in which my role involves auditing several semi-state bodies.I hold a 2:1 degree in Business and Music from NUI Maynooth.In University in my final year, I majored in performance (vocal).From the age of seven up to my final year in Loreto College (Leaving certificate year) I attended the Royal College of music for piano.

Tutoring Experience:

In my role as auditor and in my previous accountant role I have trained several new starters. This would involve me training in a trainee accountant/auditor from when they begin in their role in order to bring them up to the level that they can complete their work tasks with confidence by themselves. I have a satisfactory rating in all my years of performance reviews as an accountant/auditor.

In addition to the above, I worked in Next Retail for two years and six months towards the latter end of my University course.During this time I became a team coach which involved training in new staff members.In my final year working for them, my manager promoted me to Head team coach meaning that I was responsible for all of the head team coaches in the branch.

Approach to Grinds:

My approach to teaching is that I want to bring the student back to the beginning because very often it is at the beginning of a student's course that they may not have grasped the basics especially in a fully filled class room.I feel a lot of students may not understand the double entry system when thought it at first.It can be quite difficult for students to understand the logic behind it.In addition, some students may be afraid to ask questions in a classroom environment but with one to one tuition they may be more relaxed to ask questions.I believe that there is no such thing as a stupid question.Business and Accountancy in my opinion is all about learning and grasping the basics for which then you build upon and develop your knowledge.
