Personal Description:
I am a motivated, rigorous and enthusiastic French teacher. My professional experiences allowed me to acquire essential skills such as kindness, responsibility, organization and creativity. Indeed, for the past two years I have taught as a French teacher in a secondary school in Dublin, to students aged 12 to 18, preparing them for the Junior and Leaving certificate exams. Having had students with special needs in my classes, I know how to include them in my lessons and create differentiated activities depending on the specific levels and needs of each student. As a native French speaker, I am able to offer a lot to your school, through my atypical academic background and my different teaching experiences.
Tutoring Experience:
Having worked as a French teacher during the past two years allowed me to lead classes (from 1st years to 6th years), prepare educative supports, and organize presentations and activities about French culture. This experience gave me essential educational skills.
In addition, I work regularly with children and adolescents as both a holiday camp animator in France, and by providing personal tuition. Indeed, these experiences have allowed me - and still allow me, to develop an ability to adapt to students and have a pedagogical approach. I enjoy creating games and providing new activities and fun exercises, using my artistic skills. Drawing, theatre, and arts are tools that will allow me to reach out to and teach students in an entertaining and instructive way. My goal is to bring this artistic and creative dimension to my lessons. I enjoy creating and leading activities such as debates or theatre club.
In addition, having studied Language Sciences and given literacy courses to foreigners, I have acquired some essential notions and tools for the transmission of a foreign language.
Approach to Grinds:
Here is a description of my approach to grinds and how I organize my lessons:
The first step involves assessing the student's current level of understanding in French. This includes identifying strengths and areas for improvement.
Then, based on the assessment, I develop a tailored study plan that outlines specific goals and timelines. This plan is flexible and can be adjusted as the student progresses.
I offer engaging and interactive sessions. In fact, my grinds are designed to be interactive, encouraging students to ask questions and actively participate. This helps in keeping the sessions engaging and effective. I also incorporate real-world examples and practical applications to help students understand complex concepts in French better.
A continuous assessment is essential: regular quizzes and assessments are conducted to monitor the student's progress. This helps in identifying any areas that may need further attention. Therefore, a constructive feedback is provided after each session, highlighting the student's progress and areas that need improvement. This feedback loop is crucial for continuous improvement.
I provide a range of resources, including notes, practice questions, and past exam papers. These materials are tailored to the student's specific curriculum and learning needs.
Beyond the scheduled sessions, I am available for any additional support or clarification that the student may need.
I also emphasize the development of effective study skills and habits, encouraging students to become independent learners. To me, building the student's confidence is key. I provide motivation and encouragement, helping them to believe in their abilities and achieve their academic goals.
I believe that every student has the potential to excel with the right guidance and support. My approach is student-centered, focusing on creating a positive and productive learning environment.
