Information About Lauren - Limerick tutor

Personal Description:

College student currently studying biotechnology with biopharmaceutical science which is heavily based around biology chemistry and applied maths. Studied maths biology home economics and chemistry as part of my leaving cert receiving H2 and above in my given subjects.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been giving grinds in biology and home economic’s since the beginning of the pandemic and I am continuing with Greines into the future.

Approach to Grinds:

I personally find – for subjects such as maths one-to-one in person grinds are the best approach however for subjects such as home economics and biology these subjects can be done both online and in person.
I find it is more important to understand the material given rather than learning off reams of work and sentences as once you understand something you know it for life and can work the questions around your understanding. If you only know how to learn off your work you will never be able to adapt the question two different scenarios of how the question is going to be asked. So because of this my approach to grinds is helping the student understand what they’re trying to learn and spend time on the basis before moving into the heavier work. I think the whole point of grinds is to give students the extra push up the ladder and to be able to spend time on particular parts of the course they are finding difficult to understand.
