Information About Katelyn - Loughrea tutor

Personal Description:

Hey everyone! My name is Katelyn, I am 23 years old and I have a degree in French and music from Maynooth University. I have also lived in France for over 2 years so I am fluent in the language. In my degree I covered theory and performance so I can help you with both aspects in music.
I love teaching and communicating what I know with others and helping people achieve their best in the subject. I hope to work with you soon!

Tutoring Experience:

1 year teaching in a middle school in France
5 years experience teaching grinds

Approach to Grinds:

I like to ask the student what area they would like to focus on for the first lesson i.e. if they have a particular trouble area in school that they wish to improve. I do a general class on that subject to see what their level is- asking questions and doing exercises- and then I tailor the next lesson to suit their needs, their level, and what they wish to achieve. I try to relate things to things that might interest them so that learning does not seem like a chore to them. My fun and light approach to teaching ensures that the student will not feel intimidated and that they feel comfortable to ask questions and participate.
For beginners, I start with the basics and we will work from there.
