I'm Jun, a highly qualified and passionate Mandarin teacher based in the UK with over ten years of diverse teaching experience at primary, secondary, and university levels in China, Ireland, and the UK. My expertise extends to providing corporate and business Chinese training for professionals in sectors such as finance, marketing, and diplomacy. Additionally, I serve as an examiner for the Chinese Leaving Certificate exams and maintain a safe and supportive learning environment, as certified by my up-to-date DBS document. I have extensive experience in conducting tutorials and preparing students for all levels of YCT and HSK exams, as well as IB Chinese A, B, ab initio, GCSE, and A-Level, ensuring comprehensive mastery of both oral and written Chinese across a range of academic standards.

My role as a part-time Doctor of Education researcher at the University of Bath, UK, continually informs and enhances my teaching methods, ensuring they are innovative and effective. My extensive teaching experience across various educational settings allows me to adapt my teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students at different stages of their educational journey.

Approach to Grinds:

My approach to teaching Chinese is student-centered, emphasizing structured, engaging, and enjoyable sessions. From the outset, I assess each student's proficiency level to tailor the curriculum effectively. This enables me to set clear, achievable goals for each session, allowing us to regularly measure progress against our planned objectives. As a patient and approachable tutor, I strive to bring out the best in my students, ensuring they feel both supported and challenged.

Chinese, much like any language, has its complexities; therefore, I focus on simplifying concepts and proceeding step by step to build a solid foundation. This method not only helps in understanding intricate grammatical structures and expanding vocabulary but also in appreciating the rich cultural nuances of the Chinese language. My classes are designed to be both educational and entertaining, creating a dynamic learning environment where students can thrive and develop a genuine passion for the language.
