Information About Jeremiah - Port Laoise tutor

Personal Description:

I’m currently an intern doctor at the Medical University of Sofia with a strong interest in psychiatry. My passion for science and learning goes beyond my medical studies — I genuinely enjoy helping others understand complex topics and develop confidence in their abilities. In secondary school, I served as Deputy Head Boy, where I honed leadership and communication skills that I bring to my tutoring sessions. Outside of academics, I’m an active person who enjoys singing, running, cycling, and playing basketball. I believe that balance, curiosity, and enthusiasm are key ingredients for both teaching and learning.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been tutoring since January 2023, specializing in Junior Certificate Science and Maths, Leaving Certificate Biology, and Biology at university level. I hold tutor certificates from GoStudent for completing over 100 lessons, reflecting both my experience and commitment to quality education. For the past two years, I’ve consistently worked with two long-term students, helping them build confidence and improve academically. Although I briefly paused taking on new students, I’m now looking to expand my tutoring again and share my expertise with others.

Approach to Grinds:

My teaching approach is centred on true understanding rather than rote learning. I encourage students to explain concepts in their own words, which helps me identify any gaps in their understanding and reinforce their learning. Once we establish a solid grasp of the topic, we move on to solving exam-style questions, which builds confidence and exam readiness. I aim to create a supportive and engaging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and taking ownership of their learning.
