My name is Jacqueline, and I am a Maths teacher. I love working with young people and have years of experience working with young people of all ages. I would describe myself as approachable, friendly and enthusiastic!
I have been teaching in an all girls secondary school in Tipperary for the last two years. I teach both Junior and Senior Cycle. Prior to this I taught for two years in London. I completed the Masters of Education in Maths in 2017.
Approach to Grinds:
I believe maths should be an enjoyable subject of which everyone can be successful at. Unfortunately, often in large classes students do not have the one-to-one extra help that they need. In my grinds I try to encourage the student to develop their ability and confidence as much as possible. I like to encourage discussion of concepts to help fluency in identifying the problem and how to solve it. I believe that there is so much to be learnt from mistakes and so use mistakes to help students correct misconceptions.
