Information About Jack - Dublin tutor

Personal Description:

I am a 3rd year student in Trinity College Dublin, studying Management Science and Information Systems Studies (MSISS). I achieved 625 CAO points in the Leaving Certificate in 2019 (last exams pre Covid-19). My chosen subjects were Maths, Irish, English, French, Accounting, DCG, Applied Maths and Physics. I am also a very active individual with many other hobbies, mainly sport, so I can appreciate the importance of finding a good balance with regards to school and exams!

Tutoring Experience:

I have 3 years of tutoring experience, having started giving grinds immediately after my Leaving Certificate. I have also been teaching music (piano and guitar) to children of a variety of ages for 5 years, so I am well-accustomed to one on one teaching environments.

Approach to Grinds:

My primary aim is to prepare students for the exams themselves, although I also strive to provide insight into the fundamentals of each subject and teach you how each topic connects to the other. I believe that fundamental understanding of "why" we do things a certain way is the key to success in most Leaving Cert subjects, as opposed to simply learning "how" to do it. I will also try to ensure that people enjoy the learning, I believe that school is sometimes viewed too much as a chore, when really it is about bettering yourself and finding out what you like and don't like!
