Information About Iseult - Dublin tutor

Personal Description:

My name is Iseult, and I'm 23 years old. I'm currently studying for an MA in Drama Writing at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. I graduated from Trinity College Dublin in 2019 with a First Class Honours in English Literature, and a moderatorship in Philosophy. I completed my Leaving Certificate in 2015, and received 575 points, including A1s in English, History and Irish.

I have worked in theatre since graduating university, both as a writer and as a costume designer. Throughout my time at Trinity, I gained a lot of valuable experience through student societies and organisations. I was the Festival Director for Trinity Arts Festival, and a Senior Editor on Trinity Women's Review.

Tutoring Experience:

I have informal teaching experience within my family. I also have experience leading workshops with university students with both Trinity Arts Festival and DU Players (theatre society).

Approach to Grinds:

I believe that every student's situation is unique, and that there can be no one-size-fits-all approach. I would like to thoroughly explore where each student feels they need extra help in order to really understand their coursework, not just to superficially answer exam questions. These skills will then prepare a student for unexpected questions or exam situations.

In English classes, there is often not enough time in school to contextualise the texts students study, and this often leads to increased confusion. Since I have a good understanding of the history of English Literature, I will be able to help students in this regard. Many students particularly struggle with Shakespearean texts, and since I am currently studying Drama Writing, with a theatre history element, I am particularly well-equipped to help with this.
