Personal Description:

My name is Emily and I am living in Rathangan, Kildare. I am a fully qualified primary school teacher with experience teaching all class levels and as a special education teacher. I hold a degree in Early Years and Childhood Studies and a Master of Education with Hibernia College. I am registered with the Teaching Council and am Garda Vetted. I am available for homework support or support in any curriculum area. I am willing to travel to homes around Rathangan/Newbridge and surrounding areas or can provide online lessons via Zoom.

Tutoring Experience:

I have experience teaching at each class level in a wide range of Primary Schools. I also have experience as a Special Education Teacher and in ASD classes. I have experience as a tutor at Gaeltacht Camps for Primary School children solely focusing on the Irish Language. I also have experience providing grinds/homework assistance to children in the areas of Literacy and Numeracy.

Approach to Grinds:

My main focus when giving grinds is to improve pupils confidence and assisting them to develop their own initiative with regards answering questions. My grinds will involve fun, interactive learning games as well as lots of physical resources to assist the child's understanding of specific curriculum areas. My grinds will focus on interests of the child, whilst focusing on areas that need support. Many children need an extra bit of support in a particular subject area/with homework and a grind is great to fill this gap at home, allowing them to thrive in the classroom.
