Information About Emily - Bray tutor

Personal Description:

I am a final year student studying Medicinal Chemistry and Chemical Biology in UCD. I am set to achieve a 1:1 in this Chemistry degree! I have always enjoyed teaching, both for younger students in school and my 3 younger siblings. I achieved H1s in both Chemistry (96%) and Biology (99%) in the Leaving Cert exams.

My aim as a tutor is to help students deepen their knowledge through understanding and enjoying the content! These two factors are what have gotten me high grades throughout my college degree and it’s really rewarding to see other students becoming as passionate as I am about Science.

Alongside my academics, I play hockey with UCD and spend time with my family & friends. I am based in Foxrock so I can offer grinds at your home or online grinds. Please get in touch if you have any questions!

Tutoring Experience:

Over a year of one-on-one tutoring.
I also gave grinds while in Secondary School to younger years and also to my three younger sisters.

Approach to Grinds:

Each student learns differently and so I find it important to incorporate this aspect into my approach to teaching. An environment for comfortably asking questions and challenging individual knowledge is guaranteed. While we will work through past examination papers, we will also work to deepen the student's understanding of the material so that learning Science is enjoyable. Understanding key concepts and being able to apply this to questions is the way to excelling, instead of learning off by heart which takes long and is not in any way rewarding!
