Personal Description:

I have completed a Masters degree in History, in addition to obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and History. I am willing to travel anywhere in the Clare/Limerick region and will cater to the needs of any student. I enjoy teaching history and I have done so at all levels. I am 246years old and have completed the Hibernia College Masters, which is a very advanced teaching methodology based degree. This means your son/daughter would not be getting grinds by just reading a book and answering questions, they will be asked to perform more advanced and in depth thinking activities which will help students to understand information a lot more, and will also increase their retention rates.

Tutoring Experience:

I have taught in 2 schools in Ireland , and recently returned home from teaching in Dubai. My two schools in Ireland were St. Caimins Community School in Shannon, and also Ard Scoil Mhuire in Limerick. These were two great experiences as I was entrusted with teaching history at both Junior Certificate and Leaving Certificate, at both Higher and Ordinary level. This experience helped me see the ways in which modern day students prefer to be taught in more advanced ways rather than the old traditional methods.

Approach to Grinds:

My approach to grinds is simple, the student will learn how to identify key information and will then develop their own ideas into how this information can be used to gain full marks in an exam. Once a student has the ability to identify key information and understand how to use this information efficiently, then he/she will find the preparation for exams a lot easier. The student will be given a lot of additional information and will be shown some new ways of learning and taking notes, without writing a full essay. The student will also be given information through ICT, such as YouTube videos, PowerPoints etc, and this will help the student learn new information through a different medium.
