Personal Description:
I am a 29 year old teaching professional. I love children and get a real sense of achievement in helping children learn, improve their confidence and academic ability. Having taught in resource/ learning support for 3 years and in the classroom for 4 years, I know I have the 1:1 skills, patience, support and academic expertise required to help any child reach their true potential.
Tutoring Experience:
I am a 2nd class teacher, previously a resource/learning support teacher based in Foxrock. I have taught in a autistic unit and have been teaching for 7 years and have a passion for learning support as it enables me to work 1:1 with children to enhance their confidence and narrow any particular gaps in their learning required. I have completed a course with the dyslexic association of Ireland to learn how to help children with dyslexia. I have experience administering and preparing children for drumcondra maths and English exams. I have taught maths and English grinds to children in a 1:1 setting for the last 4years also.
Approach to Grinds:
As a previous resource teacher I have a bank and school of resources, games, ICT websites, assessments and strategies to get the best from children in a 1:1 setting. I believe in promoting a child's confidence initially though positive praise and setting realistic achievable targets at the child's academic level. I aim to encourage, motivate and help children with each step of their learning. When a child succeeds, their confidence grows and they want to learn, which is half the battle. With 1:1 I can instill that confidence and assess the child's prior knowledge to fill the gaps in their learning and at an appropria**Contact Detail Removed**vel where they can achieve and excel.
