Personal Description:

I received a first class honours degree and a gold medal in Nanoscience from Trinity College, Dublin - taking a wide variety of modules in Maths, Physics and Chemistry. I studied in UC Berkeley during my final year of college also, receiving a 4.00 GPA.

I received 601 points in my Leaving Cert earning H1's in Maths, Physics and Chemistry.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been tutoring Junior Cycle and Leaving Cycle students for the past 6 years. I have thought students at all ability levels, and the grades of some of the people I've worked with have jumped 3/4 levels. I have thought midterm break revision sessions, as well as classes of local asylum seeker groups in Maths.

During Covid-19 I founded examclass.ie which live-streamed weekly lessons during the pandemic.

Approach to Grinds:

I encourage practice during my grinds - and feel students learn best when they are working on problems. A typical hour long grind with me might look like:

0-10 mins | Intro to topic, overview of basic principles/formulae
10-20 mins | Demonstration of doing problem #1
20-30 mins | Working through problem together #2
30-40 mins | Student attempts with less help from me problem #3
40-50 mins | Student attempts on their own problem #4
50-60 mins | Recap and additional questions
